The Bluejays and Huskers will play at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the CHI Health Center and 3 p.m. Saturday at the Devaney Center. Creighton is coming off a 24-10 season in which it reached the NCAA Tournament regional semifinals.

Nebraska went 26-7 last season and advanced to the NCAA Tournament regional final. The Huskers are ranked No. 5 in the AVCA preseason poll.

Two of the top players on each team are former Elkhorn South teammates. Creighton outside hitter Jaali Winters and Nebraska outside hitter Madi Kubik were both standout players for the Storm.

Winters was the Gatorade Nebraska Volleyball Player of the Year in 2018 and 2019. She was also a two-time all-state selection.

Kubik was the Gatorade Nebraska Volleyball Player of the Year in 2020. She was also a three-time all-state selection.

Friday's match at the CHI Health Center will be Creighton's first chance to play in front of its home crowd since the 2019 season. The Bluejays played all of their home matches in Omaha last season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Creighton coach Kirsten Bernthal Booth said she is excited to finally play in front of the Bluejays' home crowd again.

"We are so excited to be back in front of our home crowd," Bernthal Booth said. "We have a great team this year, and we can't wait to show them what we can do."
